We been welcomed and looked after by Manisha. She was really friendly and helpful. It was nice relaxing environment. We liked it. Everyone lovedthe food, service and ambience. Will come again whe we come to Melbourne

Excellent food and atmosphere. The flavors were so authentic, was hard to believe we were in Melbourne haha. Would highly recommend the beef fry, chicken dum biryani and kerela chicken curry. The mango lassi and sulaimani chai were awesome too. Each had very distinct flavours, can't wait to visit again

Visited this place on a rainy Sunday. We ordered the egg puffs and tea(offcourse took the weather into consideration to enjoy this). The egg puff did give me quite a bit of nostalgia ( fresh, flaky and genuine amount of filling). Additionally we also ordered porotta , chicken curry veg curry and a chicken alfaham. The curries were coconut based. I really enjoyed the alfaham( did read a review stating that it was really good; I felt it had the right amount of spice and good marination). Overall the food is good, the staff are courteous. This place is definitely worth checking out if you are craving for some malayali food.

It’s like having a piece of home right here in Melbourne. Authentic parrota and the Nadan chicken curry was our personal favourite though we will keep returning till we try everything on the menu. Great snacks also on offer such as cutlets and egg puffs.

I had an absolutely wonderful time dining here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a treat from the perfectly cooked mains to the deliciously rich desserts. You can really tell they use quality ingredients and put care into every dish. The service was just as impressive warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home without being overbearing. The ambiance was cozy yet vibrant, perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special occasion. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends. A true gem!

Food is really good and its authentic Calicut style biriyani available here. I used to order the family pack for 3 people which costs A$ 50 which is worth 3-4 people. Tried their porotta, tapioca, beef fry and also chicken curry which is also good. Felt the chicken curry is towards the milder side of spice and the rest all were good. Parking spaces are available for about 8 cars and also street parking is available. Their tea snacks are also good. Felt better than those frozen snacks available at indian stores. Service wise I would say it's a bit slow and the waiting period is an average of 15-20 min. Tried to order well in advance for takeaways (say 1 hour) and still they take another 15-20 mins to deliver the food. Overall the food is good and those who like non spicy kerala calicut style biriyani or food is suggested with this place.

Calicut Café is hands down one of the best places to enjoy authentic Kerala flavors! Their Al Faham is absolutely delicious – tender, juicy, and perfectly marinated with just the right blend of spices. The porottas are soft, flaky, and pair so well with any curry or the Al Faham itself. And of course, their biryani is a must-try – aromatic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, just like a traditional Malabar biryani should be. The quality and taste of the food truly stand out, and it feels like a little slice of Kerala right here. Highly recommended if you love authentic South Indian flavors!

Absolutely delicious, home-cooked style food! Everything tasted amazing and full of flavour. The service was great and we didn’t have to wait long at all. The biryani and ghee rice were especially outstanding. Will definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food and warm service.
